Introduction
Sometimes we think healing depends on how close we can get to Jesus, but Matthew 8 shows us otherwise. The Roman centurion’s servant was sick at home, and the centurion simply believed Jesus’ word was enough. He didn’t need a show. He didn’t need Jesus in the room. He just needed His word. That kind of faith moves heaven.
Maybe you’re waiting on God to show up a certain way, but what if He’s waiting on you to believe His word is already enough?
Scripture Anchors
- Matthew 8:10 (KJV) — “Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”
- Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) — “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith Focus
Faith Focus I: Faith Is Confidence in God’s Word
Healing isn’t about how you feel, it’s about trusting what He has spoken.
Faith Focus II: Faith Works at a Distance
Jesus didn’t even step into the centurion’s house, yet healing still came.
Faith Focus III: Faith Honors God’s Authority
When you believe His word is enough, you acknowledge His authority over everything.
From Pain to Victory
The centurion’s servant went from torment to healing without Jesus ever stepping foot in the house. That’s the power of faith. Your situation might feel out of reach, but faith bridges the gap. What seems far from you is never far from God.
Reflection / Challenge
- Are you limiting God by expecting Him to move only one way?
- This week, choose to trust His word above your feelings.
Prayer
Father, strengthen my faith to believe Your word is enough. Teach me to trust You beyond what I see, knowing that healing flows where faith is present. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
